Sonal Chauhan started her career as a model and walked the ramps for various brands. She also appeared in print advertisements of various brands such as Nokia, Reliance CDMA, Hero Honda, Delhi Times, LG and Ponds. In 2005, She was crowned Miss World Tourism 2005 at Miri, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Chauhan first appeared on screen in Aap Kaa Surroor opposite Emraan Hashmi. She made her Bollywood debut with film Jannat (2008). Kunal Deshmukh spotted her at a restaurant and offered her Jannat (2008). she made her Telugu film debut with film Rainbow and Kannada film debut with the film Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu (2010).
