Bio and Early Life 

Sha’carri Richardson was born on March 25 in the Year 2000 in Dallas, Texas. She went to Cater High School to complete her school education and earned the No.1 ranking among the sprinters in 2018. At school, she also earned three Texas state titles. Further, to continue her education and sports, Richardson enrolled at LSU-Louisiana State University in 2019. This proved to be the turning point of her life where she broke the records and dropped off after one year of attending college.

Richardson’s professional career started in the year 2021 with the Tokyo Summer Olympics 2020. She qualified for the Olympics by running a 100-meter race in 10.86 seconds, leaving Javianne Oliver in second position by a delay of 0.13 seconds. She was unaware of her mother’s death which happened just a week before her match in June 2021. Later, she was disqualified from the Olympics in charge of consuming drugs. She justified that she took Marijuana to bear the mother’s loss. However, the drug Cannabis has not been allowed for Olympic athletes since 1999. 

Richardson then returned to the track with the Prefontaine Classic 2021 held on Hayward Field of the University of Oregon. Here, she secured ninth position, completing the race in 11.14 seconds. 

  • Year 2023 

Richardson had major victories in the year 2023 and turned into a US World Champion. She won the 100 meters at the Miramar Invitational in April 2023 and became the fourth-fastest woman in American history.

Furthermore, she participated in the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and won the 100 m race challenge in 10.86 seconds. She, hereby, became the US National Champion and qualified for the 2023 World Athletics Championships held in Budapest. In Budapest, Richardson won her first major International title in 10.65 seconds with a gold medal in the women’s 100-meter sprint. Later, she also won the bronze-medal in the women’s 200-meter sprint in 21.92 seconds. Moreover, she won gold in women’s 4 × 100m relay finals as a member of Team USA alongside Tamari Davis, Twanisha Terry, and Gabrielle Thomas.

As of recent updates, Richardson has won the US Olympic Trials 2024 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Eugene, Oregon. She has also defended her title as US World Champion by winning the 100-meter sprint in 10.71 seconds. With this victory, she has qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics to be held in Paris, France.

Personal Life & Sexuality 

Richardson is not of straight sexuality but is a bisexual individual. She introduced her sexuality proudly on Twitter after winning her 2020 Summer Olympics on June 20, 2021. She said that she had a girlfriend named Janeek Brown who chose her hair color for her Olympics Qualifiers. Richardson was in a one-year relationship with her and then ditched her after she abused her.  

At present, Richardson is single and is not seeing anyone.

Sha’carri was raised by her grandmother Betty Harp and she was the biological daughter of Shayaria Richardson. Any information about her father and siblings is unknown. Her mother died just a week before her 2021 Summer Olympics. She was unaware of her death until a reporter asked about it after she qualified for the race. 

Richardson revealed that she used to consume Marijuana after her mother had died. She used to live in the state of Oregon where it was legal. Richardson also declared her bisexuality on Twitter after her win in 2021 through the platform of Twitter. This step also inspired other individuals in the LGBTQ community.
