Arshdeep Singh is a prominent figure in the Indian cricket team. He stands tall at 6 feet 2 inches or 1.90 meters, with a lean and athletic build, and weighs around 70 kilograms. His striking black hair and matching black eyes add to his commanding presence on the field. Evolution in Career 

Arshdeep was selected for the U-19 Cricket World Cup held in the year 2018. He played two matches and the squad also won the U-19 World Cup 2018. 

Impressed with his performances, Arshdeep was then selected for U-23 nation teams for the 2019 IPL matches. He played for Kings XI Punjab against Rajasthan Royals where he took two essential wickets of Jos Butler and Ajinkya Rahane, among others later on. His IPL performance improved and he got a huge salary increase from INR 20 Lakhs in 2019 IPL to INR 4 crores for the next season of IPL.

In 2021, Arshdeep got an invitation from the Indian Cricket team for a tour to Sri Lanka. As a result, he made his T20i (T20 Internationals) debut on 7 July 2022 by playing against England. Next, he made his debut for ODIs (One Day Internationals) and played against New Zealand. 

In 2022, Arshdeep played in the ICC T20 World Cup against Pakistan and took a wicket too. He ended the tournament with fame for becoming the third Indian bowler to take 10 wickets in 6 matches. His average score was 15.60 runs per wicket.                 

Most recently, Arshdeep has played in the T20 Cricket World Cup 2024. He took 17 wickets and became the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Another pacer from Afghanistan Fazalhaq Farooqi also holds the position. He was seen honoring his parents with the medal after winning the finals against South Africa.

Early Life and Education 

Arshdeep Singh was born in Guna, Madhya Pradesh (India) on 05 February 1999. He belongs to a Sikh-Punjabi Family. Later on, the family moved to Kharar near Chandigarh, where Arshdeep spent his early childhood. He started showing interest in cricket at a very young age and used to play “gully cricket” with children from their neighborhood in Kharar. 

It was at the age of 13 that Arshdeep started playing cricket for his school Guru Nanak Public School, Chandigarh. Looking into his interest and evolution as a player, he was enrolled at Jaswant Rai’s cricket academy at the age of 16. This is where his cricket career started taking a form and he never went to college thereafter.

Arshdeep Singh is the elder son of his Sikh parents- Darshan Singh and Baljeet Kaur. He has two siblings – elder brother Akashdeep Singh who lives in Brampton, and a younger sister Gurleen Kaur. His father was an inspector at CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) in Guna and served for 25 Years there. Meanwhile, his mother worked as a homemaker. 

Arshdeep is reportedly unmarried and is also not dating anyone. None of his love affairs are yet exposed to the public.
