Aditi Rao comes from a family of mixed ethnicity. She came into the world on October 28, 1986 in Hyderabad. She was the daughter of a Muslim father and a Buddhist mother. Her father Ahsan Hydari was an engineer. He passed away in 2013. Moreover, her mother Vidya Rao is a singer. She has accomplished the thumri and dadra genres of classical learning.

Aditi has had a tough childhood as her parents separated when she was just two. Her mother brought her to New Delhi, where she cared for and raised her. She was then sent to a boarding school for her school education. Aditi spent her early days and school vacations in New Delhi and sometimes in Hyderabad too, as most of her family lived there.

Educational Journey 

Aditi Rao completed her schooling at Rishi Valley School, a boarding school in Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh. Furthermore, she completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College of the University of Delhi.  

Journey in the Industry 

Aditi Rao worked as an international Bharatnatyam dancer before she received an offer for a Tamil film. Her performance captivated the audience and held director Ramanathan’s attention. He offered her his film Shringaram where Aditi portrays the role of a temple dancer of the 19th century. The film was recognized with three National Film Awards in 2007 and also received positive acclaim for Aditi’s acting. 

However, everything went well for Shringaram, it was not released in theatres all over India. Her first theatrical release was a Malayalam film Prajapathi, released in 2006. She was later cast in a Hindi drama film Delhi-6 in 2009. 

After playing some supporting characters in Hindi films, Aditi was finally cast in a leading role in a London, Paris, New York movie in 2012. Her performance was praised by the audiences and reviewers from NDTV, and The Hindu. 

Aditi Rao had her breakthrough appearance in 2016 with Wazir. She also played another supporting character with Deepika Padukone in the 2018 hit Padmavat. Aditi Rao took a break from the industry for about a year in 2019 and returned with three releases in 2020, featuring Tamil and Telugu films. 

Aditi appeared in other films like The Girl on the Train, V, Ajeeb Daastaans, and more. More recently, she became popular for her role in the Netflix series Heeramandi. She played the character of a Bibbojaan in this film and was highly praised for her performance.

Aditi Rao Hydari was reportedly married to Satyadeep Mishra. He was an Indian lawyer and also a former actor. The two met when Aditi was just 17 years old. She had a serious relationship with him and married him after turning 21. The couple kept their marriage a secret as Aditi was trying to be an actress in the industry. They never spoke about their relationship. 

However, Aditi opened up about her terms with Satyadeep in a 2013 interview. She is now separated from Mishra but keeps a good relationship with him.
